Explore the Ocean Program

REDA team understands that refugees face several challenges in finding recreational activities to reduce their isolation and improve their wellbeing. As a result, REDA will facilitate four ocean retreats to Point Reyes, CA. The Ocean Retreat Program is made possible through generous funding from the CA State Coastal Conservancy. To sign-up for one of these retreats, you must attend one of REDA’s scheduled informational webinars about the retreats. The date of REDA’s first ocean retreat is March 4-6th, 2022.

Refugee Economic Empowerment Program

Refugees are often highly skilled and experienced. They have a wide range of talents and professional skills, and due to their experiences have often developed enormous resilience and adaptability. In addition, refugees are likely to be proficient in a number of languages, which can be another asset to businesses growing in various markets and seeking to reach diverse communities.
The job placement program focuses on finding work opportunities for refugees by collaborating with hiring agencies. REDA assists newcomers who are interested in finding a job and provide training for career development, through collaboration with training centers. Clients can apply for job placement or career development through submitting an application using our Client Assessment link
Organizations that are interested in hiring refugees may connect with us to let us know available employment opportunities.

Resettlement

As an expansion of its services to refugees, REDA has recently collaborated with national organizations to resettle refugees in the Sacramento region Since most refugees flee their war torn countries without being able to bring personal possessions, the federal government provides transitional resettlement assistance to newly arrived refugees. REDA’s Resettlement Assistance Program welcomes refugees from the day of arrival by providing housing, social services, and other needed assistance to help refugees make a rapid transition to economic self-sufficiency.
